Quick FAQ
Are you in hurry and just don't have time to read Translation HOWTO? We recommend you read it, but if you feel time is running short for you and want quick help, then read below.
I want to start a new language or to restart an unmaintained existing team. What should I do?,
If you want to create a team for a new locale, please make sure
first that the locale is supported in glibc: https://sourceware.org/glibc/wiki/Locales#Creating_and_Updating_Locale_Data
and the mailing list https://sourceware.org/mailman/listinfo/libc-locales.
What we ask people who want to create/revive a team is to
translate kcoreaddons, kio, ki18n and kxmlgui as close to 100% as possible
and send them to Albert (aacid at kde.org) in private (no need to bother
the rest of the people in the KDE i18n mailing list with those files).
If your language was already present in KDE, replace xx with your locale
on the following urls and check their status:
- https://websvn.kde.org/trunk/l10n-kf6/xx/messages/kxmlgui/
- https://websvn.kde.org/trunk/l10n-kf6/xx/messages/kio/
- https://websvn.kde.org/trunk/l10n-kf6/xx/messages/ki18n/
Make sure they are up to date and correct. Please check also if there are missing files from the templates:
